Meet the Giants

The Three Cousins: Signe, Mads, & Firdaus

Signe Breshlovski

The Artificer

Signe (pronounced see-nuh) lives in the city of Obragard, tinkering and crafting items. After her mother passed away, Signe carried on her memory by using her mother’s gem stone as a magical life-source for a mechanical racoon she assembled.

Signe is one of the three cousins in this tale. She is 16 feet tall and certainly the most charismatic of the trio.

Mads Breshlovski

The Paladin

Driven by a zealous faith for The Mountain, Mads is a lone soul. An explorer and wanderer. Most of the jobs he takes are for protecting villages, ridding them of pests such as orcs and goblins.

Although he has mostly kept to himself over the years, Mads is still family, and loved by his other two cousins. Standing 26 feet tall and built like a tank, Mads is a force to be reckoned with.

Firdaus Svartrol

The Druid

A man of the land and the animals. Firdaus has spent the last several years living in the Därligskeg, a swampy area inhabited by the Druid Circle. He eventually left, after having growing concerns towards the ideas and behaviors going on within the circle. Now, going by the identity of “Underhill,” he is always looking over his shoulder, believing the matron of the circle may be pursuing him.

Firdaus is a worshiper of many gods, and possesses a broad spectrum of spiritual knowledge. The oldest of the three cousins, he is 25 feet tall, standing just below his cousin Mads.

The Others

Bogdana Poplawski

The Survivalist

Like Mads, Bogdana spends much of her time in the wilderness, taking various jobs only when necessary. Although she’s not much for conversation, she is a handy member to have in any adventuring party. She is skilled in hunting, cooking, navigating, and all other manner of wilderness survival.

At 16 feet tall, Bogdana may be short for a giant, but she is built stronger than most and wouldn’t hesitate to take on anyone in a fight.

Creed Sadowski

The Busker

“The Fat Bard” as he affectionately comes to be known by the party, Creed has spent his years in the city of Obragard, playing music at venues and on street corners. When the search party was assembled after a kidnapping, Creed decided to do more with his life than just playing music, so he agreed to join the party, logging the events and keeping track of expenses for later reimbursement. He is the narrator of this adventure.

The World

The History

For 20 years, war was waged between the Giants and the Tieflings, both within and just south of The Great Marsh. Land disputes and racial feuds escalated to catastrophic proportions. Beaten to the point of surrender, the Tieflings desperately turned to the Dwarves for aid. The Dwarves agreed, so long as the Tieflings would submit themselves in servitude, which the Tieflings did.

And so, the Dwarves made a bargain with the Giants—or perhaps, more accurately, an ultimatum—the Giants were to pack up and move North, to the mountains. If they refused, the Dwarves swore to lay siege upon the Giants, a battle the war-torn Giants knew they could never survive. So the Giants agreed, packed up their families, and moved North.

But that was 80 years ago. Since that time, the nations have lived peacefully. The Gnomes, harmless friends to all, were the go-betweens for the nations, exchanging, selling, and trading goods & services. The nations began rebuilding, and everyone has kept to themselves … or so it is believed.

Obragard

Obragard is a sprawling city of Giants, in the province of Rognor. One of the largest cities of the Giants, located on the southern border of their territories. It is a trade haven for Gnomes, selling mostly metals and other mined materials. The Giants are one of the only suppliers of Adamantine, a rare metal found deep within the mountains.

Although Obragard is vast, it is not well governed. The streets are something one might see in a wild west story, with dirt roads and rugged taverns. Now, in an attempt to become more civilized, the governors of the various provinces have called all the Giants together to take part in a census. And the three cousins, Signe, Mads, and Firdaus, have decided to use this gathering as an opportunity to reunite after all their years apart.
